With a little help from my friends

This post is dedicated to my dear husband Jan, who passed away half a year ago. He should have been with us in the garden today. He would have loved it so. Sending him all my love.

A big kiss and thank you to my daughters, son in law and sweet friends,  who helped me out in the garden today. They got rid of the moss and weeds, repaired the roof of the little garden house and put up new blinds, outside and inside.

In between we enjoyed home baked Madeleines, an absolutely delicious celeriac saffron and orange soup and a quick salad, to restore our energy levels.

The garden looks amazing! So much has grown in only a few days time. The plum trees are full of little white blossoms, there are daffodils all over and we even have our very own tulip field :-) I picked my first bunch of garden flowers, to put on the table. I am so happy the gardening season has begun! Hope you will be able to spend some time in the garden or on  your balcony too.

A Happy week ahead!

Love,

Madelief x

Early morning light

Hey, just a quick post before I dash off to the Swan Market, where my eldest daughter is managing a stall, together with a friend. I did not rent a stall myself this time. Perhaps in September.

I thought I would show you some photo's of  my allotment garden. How I love the garden in spring time, when everything looks light and airy and the daffodils and tiny blueish pink flowers of the lungworth seem to be dancing in the wind.

My youngest daughter Annebelle and I went to the allotment early last Sunday. At 9.30 AM we were among the first at work. Although I enjoy the company of the friendly people on my allotment complex, it's a delight to be there on ones own now and then. Not having to socialise. Just do whatever I like and enjoy the beauty and stillness in the garden.

Annebelle and I did a lot of work. We tidied up the middle part of the garden, cut the grass and best of all, had our cup of tea in the sun. Annebelle asked me to take a photo of the sharp edges she cut along the grass. She is quite proud of it!! :-)

Sorry I haven't been around lately, but I have been busy, busy, busy :-) I will make it up to you!

Have a lovely weekend!

Love,

Madelief x

A bit of this and that

Hello! Thank you all for your kind comments on last weeks blog post. I had a lovely time in Limburg. There were blue skies, rolling green hills, amazing views and the good company of my aunt and an uncle. Some of you may be happy to hear, that I even managed to wear my Little Black Dress. Ha, ha, I have to tell you though that my aunt and I were the only ones in the restaurant :-) Nevertheless, wearing a LBD makes one feel better!

In today's post some photo's of my weekend in Limburg and a daytrip I made with my youngest to Amsterdam. We visited the Rijksmuseum (amaaaaazing) and the Royal Palace at Dam square (impressive).  In between some photo's of old and new vintage finds (yes, I struck gold again :-)) and a three, or is it four year old crochet blanket, which I picked up again......

Well, that's it for now. I have to run to catch my train. I am meeting up with my sweet friend Ingrid, from the blog Home & Lifestyle.

Have a fun weekend!

Love,

Madelief x
